Our sugar bush is located in Lutsen, Minnesota just 8 miles up the Caribou Trail from highway 61.

Our History

In 1996, our family owned business Wild Country Maple Products was formed and we had our first sugaring crop in Lutsen, Minnesota in 1997.  Since 1996 and with the growth of our maple syrup operation it became apparent that we needed to separate the production aspect of our business from the retailing end.

Today, the sugaring and maple syrup production remains a family business – Sawtooth Mountain Maple Syrup Co. –  with owners Chris Cordes, Greg Nichols and Kirstin van den Berg.  Our operation at 29,500+ taps is still growing and we continue our tradition of making the best maple syrup you have ever tasted!

We work with several different partners to manage the wholesale and retail distribution of our maple syrup.  We feel very fortunate to work with them as they embrace the same values as we do when it comes to providing an excellent product and superior service to all customers.
